The purpose of a sketchbook is to strengthen your drawing skills, encourage you to look harder at things, use your imagination, explore techniques that interest you, and challenge you. Each assignment should take at least 60 minutes. You may work on the sketchbook assignment when time is allotted (When finished with project early or tutorial).

Sketchbook Assignment #1
Design the cover! Due 9/24 MONDAY
OPTION #1: 50 Objects
Design the cover! Due 9/24 MONDAY
OPTION #1: 50 Objects
- Your name in bold letters.
- At least 50 objects that describe/ related to you.
- Must be outlined in black ink and colored (markers or colored pencils).
- Attention to detail.
- Drawings take up at least 75% of the page.
OPTION #2: Zentangle
- Your name in bold letters.
- Zentangle patterns around the name.
- Fill the entire page.
- Outline with pen or markers.

LABEL EACH DRAWING at the top with appropriate title- SA#2, Name and Code
Small world: What if you were the size of an ant? Draw the view you would see (Forest, school, cafeteria, kitchen, etc. )
Criteria:
Drawing should fill ENTIRE page.
Include FOREGROUND, MIDDLEGROUND, BACKGROUND
Include DETAILS and be CREATIVE
Use colored pencils to add color.

Sketchbook Assignment #4: Magazine collage drawing DUE: 12/17 MON
Collage: art made by pasting various different materials such as photographs and pieces of paper or fabric onto a backing.
Start with a cut-out image or pattern from a magazine. Complete an imagery drawing based off of that magazine cut-out.
Think creatively: surreal environment, unusual combination, or creative interpretation.
For example: If you cut out a banana, draw something less obvious than a monkey holding the banana.
Criteria:Creativity, fully rendered (colored or shaded) , at least ¾ of the page
Craftsmanship/ Effort:Neatness and presentation. Spent at least an hour. Put effort/ thought.
